This long-awaited extraordinary educational event provides an opportunity for every attendee to sing in one of three choruses, working together to create unique performance packages that we all encounter or might want to prepare for: a local gig, a cabaret show, or an Open Division package at contest. You'll be assigned to one of these chorus groupings:

The Directors/Choroegraphers are:

  • Red Chorus (local performance) – Director Patty Pennycook; Choreographer Tina deLise
  • Green Chorus (cabaret show) – Director Dede Nibler; Choreographer Pam Johnson
  • Blue Chorus (open division) – Director Angela Suraci; Choreographer Julie Baxter

LOVENOTES - Region 12's beloved LoveNotes, 2014 International Champion Quartet,  will be leading classes for quartets on Friday afternoon, as well as coaching quartets during the weekend.  It's wonderful to experience their music up close and personal, as well as to enjoy the company of these beautiful and talented ladies.

CorinnaGarriockCORINNA GARRIOCK - Tenor of the 2012 International Champion Quartet Martini, Corinna is a Music Judge and Arranger, with numerous arrangements under her belt for both quartets and choruses. As a former Education Coordinator for Region 26, former Master Director of Westcoast Harmony Chorus, and an Assistant Director with Lions Gate Chorus, Corinna brings a wealth of knowledge for aspiring and experienced arrangers.

REGIONAL FACULTY:  In addition to our workshop directors and choreographers, Region 12 is blessed with many fine educators on our Regional Faculty. They’ll be busy providing classes, PVIs, and quartet coaching throughout the weekend.

CLASSES: Classes (tracks) for Directors, Quartets, and Arrangers are on Friday from 1:00-5:00pm.

Classes for General Membership start at 7:00 pm Friday and end on Sunday at 12:00 noon.  Everyone will attend sessions specifically designed for your chorus including props/parodies, microphone technique, script writing, marketing, costuming, choreography, and more!

Every group will be coached by Cindy Hansen, and will have time to rehearse and put their own special touches on their performances. Then we’ll all perform for each other on Sunday morning.  What a show!  Three choruses, plus the 2017 Regional Championship Quartet, plus the 2014 International Queens of Harmony, LoveNotes!

Our goal is for you to bring back to your own chorus new ideas and techniques to make all your performances even more stellar than they already are!

PVIs and Quartet Coaching sessions will be offered throughout the weekend on a limited basis, so sign up early if you are interested.

HOUSING: Pick your roommate (2 to a room) when you register. You’ll share a large bathroom with an adjacent room of 2 people in the comfortable, air-conditioned dorms. If you prefer a single room, there is an additional $50 charge for the weekend.

Individuals needing assistance or special accommodations to fully participate in the program should contact Alison Miller, Event Coordinator, who will notify Simpson University of requests. People-mover carts will be available for those with limited mobility to get from class to class.

Simpson University is a no-smoking, no-alcohol campus. We appreciate everyone’s cooperation in respecting the rules of our hosts.

MEALS: Friday dinner, 3 meals on Saturday, and Sunday breakfast are included in the registration fee. There’s also a coffee shop centrally located on campus where you can purchase specialty coffee drinks, pastries, and snacks until mid-afternoon.

FUN! Choruses, be sure to bring your tri-fold displays to share with everyone. They will be displayed prominently in the main auditorium.

You’ll want to learn the two workshop songs before you get there so you’ll get the most out of the coaching sessions. They are: THE BEST OF TIMES and MOMENTS TO REMEMBER.  You can find these on the Members Only page, under the "Music" menu.

We’ve built in some rest & relaxation time, but be ready to party on Saturday night. We’ve got great quartets who want to sing (including our Love Notes and the new 2017 Region 12 Quartet Champs), and there will be a fabulous Photo Booth where you can get crazy with your management team, your director, your section leaders, your quartet, your roommate, or your newest friends from across the region!
